You'd think it would get tiring after awhile, continually knocking heads with LURC, Plum Creek, our forest products industry and whatever else.
Apparently not.
Even though LURC (that would be the Land Use Regulation Commission) has approved the Plum Creek plan, the happy trio and their cadre of legal beagles, have decided to appeal the LURC decision in court. Must have a pretty good chunk o' cash hanging around for this kind of lawyery type stuff it would appear, given their propensity for such activities.
Anyhoo, I guess if your mission is to obstruct and delay, then hey, what the hay! Jeez, I think that kinda rhymes! I crack me up.
By the way, it's probably worth noting that besides the "821 house lots, and two resorts with more than 1,200 housing units at Big Moose Mountain and Lily Bay" mentioned in the article, the plan also calls for some 420,000 of conservation lands in fee and easement. Oh, and that this would form a damn near continuous swath of copnservations lands from Baxter State Park south and west to the Canadian border.
A minor point I know, but I figured it was worth mentioning this, and the fact that the plan constitutes the largest single conservation project ever in the state. But then, what's a few hundred thousand acres of multi-use conservation lands among friends, right?!
Zzzzzzz...
