Yep, your tax dollars at work. Good work.
The great State of Maine is offering guided hikes at selected state parks every Sunday for the next four weeks.
Can't beat that with a stick I say. No suh.
Starting this Saturday, September 27th, you can "join a Park Ranger and Forester on a Guided Foliage Hike in a Maine State Park."
And bonus, you can learn "Why do the leaves change colors?, What triggers leaf fall? and How do I identify trees?"
No that's some kinda deal mistah man.
You gets outside, gets guided around the woods, and gets to see some wicked decent fall foliage, all for... nothing! I like. A lot. You should too.
Here's where to be, daypack packed and boots on:
* September 27: Hike Quoggy Jo Mountain in Aroostook State Park
* October 4: Hike Table Rock in Grafton Notch State Park
* October 11: Hike Bradbury Mountain in Bradbury Mountain State Park
* October 18: Hike Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park
Nice!
Thanks for this terrific effort go to the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands, Maine Forest Service and Project Learning Tree.
Go, do, have fun. It's free and easy. Get out, breathe, relax. It's the best time of year (I say that now but then, you know...).
